By Marci Glover

Camping is a really fun activity to do alone or with family. If you have young children especially, they may really enjoy the time outdoor and spending time with each other and their parents. Camping in a tent is possible or getting a pop up camper. You only need a car to pull this type of camper because it does not weigh that much. You will need to consider pop up hitches, however, because you will need a hitch in order to pull it with your car.

Look at your budget and see what you can afford. Some are more expensive than others like all things. Evaluate what you want the inside to look like. You may want a newer model which will cost more than an older one. If it is self-contained and has a toilet, it will cost more. These are the types of things you must evaluate before you buy one or even look at one.

The Internet has a lot of listings available to show you what is out there for sale. Look online for listings and then make plans to visit dealerships. Make an appointment or walk into one that is selling what you are looking for. Try to find some campers on sale so you can save a little bit of money.

The dealers will probably have a wide selection to choose from. This is their full-time business, most likely, so they should be well stocked. Private sellers will only their own camper for sale. This has its pros and cons. Decide which method works best for you or try both. The private seller may negotiate with you more, but there will not be that many to look at.

Learn about the hitch that you will need to install before being able to pull it. They are a little apparatus that needs to be installed at the back of your car. It has a large ball on the end of it that is attached to the camper. After it is installed, you can then tow it carefully down the road or highway.

Make this camper your home on wheels. It can be quite a nice addition to your life if you take care of it and enjoy it. If you do take good care of it, you can enjoy it for many years to come. Spend time with your family and treasure the memories associated with it. Enjoy shopping around looking at the different designs.

See if you can learn from others where they got their campers. You can strike up a conversation with someone with whom you feel comfortable and learn about where they got their camper and how you can find one like it if you like theirs. A good place to start is a recreational vehicle park.

Ask dealers a lot of questions about the camper you are looking at. Trust your gut when doing business with someone. Try to figure out if they are being honest about what they say about it.
