Maintaining Your Hankook Tires And Wheels Clean

By Miles R. Rau

You can get any tire you need by shopping amongst a variety of manufacturers, including Hankook Tires. Like the majority of tire makers, they have an ample range of tire sizes and tread designs that will also accommodate modified and custom vehicles that have oversized wheels or that require a particularly aggressive tread on the tires. The wheels of your vehicle, regardless of how they are designed, offer a lot to its aesthetic appeal. There are all kinds of different techniques that can be used to clean your tires and wheels, but you should only use those that the manufacturers approve and that are known for maintaining the appearance of the tires without damaging them in any way.

Hankook Tires should be cleaned with a relatively soft brush that will not be able to accidentally puncture any points on the tire's sidewalls or tread. It is important to be cautious when going around the edges of your tire because these are the softest, thinnest, and therefore weakest parts. You can either use a specific type of tire cleaning product or just liquid detergent and water to clean off your tires; either will do a fine job and will keep them clean of debris, dust, and dirt You can enhance the appearance and quality of yours tires by applying a tire dressing directly to the rubber each time you wash and dry the tires.

Despite the fact that it is important to maintain your Hankook Tires and rims clean you do not want to use strong chemical cleaning agents on rims with a painted finish. If you apply caustic chemicals to the rims you could end up with a cloudy finish or you may take part of the finish right off the wheel. Use a light cleaning agent and a soft sponge similar to what you would use on the doors and panels of your car when cleaning the rims.

The finish on chrome plated rims is a bit more delicate and thus you should be careful when cleaning them. One smart way to keep your chrome rims from getting damaged is to wax them after each cleaning since this creates a protective coating.

You do not have to put a lot of effort into cleaning and maintaining your Hankook Tires, but even a little goes a long way. Be certain you are using cleaning supplies that are appropriate for both your tires and the finish of your wheels.
