Car manufacturers are aiming towards creating unique and innovative designs as the consumer market is becoming more interested in trendy and economic designs for their private automobile. In the upcoming months, a couple of innovative models as well as other new vehicles, will be available to the general public as shown in the 2011 Geneva Motor show. Automobile manufacturers are also aiming towards developing safety-oriented designs in their green cars to make sure that premiums with car insurance companies are kept to a minimum.

While fuel efficiency may have been a common factor a few years ago, the vehicles that were out for view at the show ranged from sports cars to range rovers and even luxury cars. It is apparent that the body of the car is no longer the limitation; and with some cars getting 150 mpg, there is no telling what the coming models will be capable of.

The first car that will be covered is the Nissan ESFLOW. This stylish sports car can seat 2 people and even has the ability to travel 150 miles on a single charge. Pair this mileage with the power to go from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds, and it is very easy to see why so many people have their eyes on this vehicle. Nissan has also designed the ZOE with Renault. The ZOE has a top speed of about 84 mph and can go from 0 to 60 in 8.1 seconds.

The Vauxhall Ampera also impressed at the Geneva Motor show with zero tailpipe emissions and the ability to be powered completely by electricity for 50 miles. After the battery has run out, the engine will switch to petrol, which will allow the car to continue driving for another 310 miles. The ability to seamlessly switch from electric to petrol while limiting emissions is sure to attract buyers.

The Range Rover Range_e is a city car that emits a tiny 89g/km of CO2, which can be translated into roughly 85 miles. It is the 1st 4WD Range Rover that can accomplish this feat, and has a number of impressive features that let the driver control the car exactly how they see fit.

Volvo showcased the V60 plug in has 285 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 62 in 6.9 seconds. The V60 is an all wheel-drive diesel hybrid, and also offers a driving range of 30 miles with zero emissions. Not to be outdone, the Peugeot 3008 Crossover is also a diesel hybrid, although it does not offer a plug in option like the Volvo.

BMW grabbed everyone's attention with their Vision ConnectedDrive Roadster. Although the exact specs have not been released, this Roadster works to fuse the driver and car with the surrounding environment for best results. There was also a Mini Rocketman concept car that was revealed to the public for the first time. This small vehicle is capable of getting 94mpg and strives to combine fuel efficiency with comfort and drivability.

Some of the most innovative and promising environmentally friendly cars were revealed at the Geneva Motor show and there are only signs of this green industry on the rise. Without doubt, environmentally sustainable vehicles are on the rise in the upcoming future.
